EARLY MCCOMB GOAL GIVES DUNS THE EDGE
Dundela collected the points from this trip across Belfast to face PSNI at The Dub.
The Duns needed just four minutes to open the scoring. Ross Holden did well down the left to get behind the home defence before playing the ball to the near post for Carl McComb to touch home from close range.
McComb came close to adding a second soon after from an Eoin Kane lay off only for PSNI keeper Dylan Stewart to turn the ball away before Holden saw another effort denied by a diving save.
The sides traded chances as the first half progressed with the PSNI coming closest when Mark Anderson delivered a ball into the six yard box but no-one was able to get the decisive touch while Aaron Cochrane was then unlucky in a goalmouth scramble.
After the break, Tony Tumelty was denied by Ryan McBride at the right post while, at the other end, Kane fired over from a good position after Daniel Burns crossed into the area followed by Stewart pushing out a Gareth Tommons effort a short time later.
The PSNI squandered a glorious chance just after the hour when Anderson saw a spot-kick saved by McBride, awarded after Owen Getty had been brought down by Matthew King.
Both sides had chances later in the game, most notably PSNI's Tiarnan McNicholl, but he was denied by a goalline clearance as the Dundela defence successfully protected their slender advantage.
