NO CHANGE AFTER SHAMROCK PARK THRILLER
It's as you were at the top of the Bluefin Sport Championship after Portadown and Ballinamallard United played out an enthralling 3-3 draw at Shamrock Park.
The Ports held a six-point cushion over the Mallards going into the game and after the first quarter-of-an-hour they looked set to stretch that to nine thanks to an Adam Salley brace giving them a two-goal advantage.
He opened the scoring after eight minutes with a finish past John Connolly after Chris Lavery had delivered the ball to the back post, before tapping home a second when the ball fell loose following some good play by Christopher Crane.
The Mallards pulled a goal back just after the half-hour mark through Jason McCartney with an effort into the top corner.
Then, in first half stoppage time, Richard Clarke squandered the chance to level for the Mallards when his spot-kick was saved by Daniel Devine but there was still time for Matthew Smyth to turn home a second for the visitors after the ball had bobbled around the box.
Portadown came close to restoring their lead on 56 minutes when a Salley header struck the post, while further efforts followed through Nathan Cashel, Paddy McNally and Stephen Teggart as both sides searched for the upper hand.
But, with seven minutes left, Ballinamallard thought they had done enough to claim what would have been a crucial three points when Christopher Kelly turned the ball hoe after Cashel had won a header at the back post.
Portadown weren't finished, though, and duly equalised deep into stoppage time when Martin Bradley whipped in a free-kick that Luke Wilson was able to stab over the line to ensure honours ended even in the most dramatic of fashion.
