BENNETT DOUBLE HELPS 'BREDA SECURE VITAL WIN
Knockbreda picked up an important three points with victory over HW Welders at Tillysburn Park, a win that closes the gap on the sides immediately above them at the foot at the table.
Brendan Bennett had a great chance to open the scoring after a quarter-of-an-hour but he couldn't beat Welders keeper Ryan Miskelly from the spot.
However, Bennett redeemed himself just five minutes later with the opening goal when he received the ball on the edge of the area, took it past a couple of defenders before slotting into the bottom left corner.
Ross Arthurs levelled for the Welders eight minutes from the break after a quick one-two with Ryan Deans ended with a finish past Jack Hazard from around 18 yards.
'Breda moved back in front just before the hour with Bennett's second of the afternoon, scrambling the ball home on the edge of the six yard box after Gary Spence had nodded down a corner.
Then, on 67 minutes, Alex Pomeroy made it 3-1 when he pounced on the rebound from Bennett's blocked effort to blast the ball home at the right post.
Substitute Jonathan Smith pulled one back for the Welders with three minutes remaining but it wasn't enough to spark a late revival for Gary Smyth's side.
