COMRADES TOO STRONG FOR STUDENTS AT THE DUB
Ballyclare Comrades returned to winning ways with victory over Queen's University at The Dub.
After a bright start, the visitors moved in front on ten minutes through Andy Gray who bagged his second goal of the season after pouncing on an error in the home defence before beating Conor Lally with low 20-yard finish into the net.
It proved to be a short lived lead. The Students got back on level terms ten minutes later in somewhat fortunate circumstances when a Ronan Young effort came off Ballyclare defender Lee McCune to divert it past Ben McCauley.
And Queen's might have gone in front soon after only for Matthew Hughes' goalbound effort through a crowded box to be cleared off the line.
Ballyclare started the similar fashion to the first and were duly rewarded just before the hour when Gary Donnelly knocked home what proved to be the winner with a clinical finish from around 12 yards after receiving the ball from Joe Tully.
Tully almost added a third with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining with a dipping effort from outside the area which came back off the inside of an upright.
