PORTS MAINTAIN PROMOTION PUSH
Portadown enjoyed a comfortable three goal win against mangerless Knockbreda to maintain their promotion hopes in the Bluefin Sport Championship.
The Ports had much of the early opportunities in this game but failed to test the visiting goalkeeper Hazard with any clear cut opportunities.
It wasn't until the 21st minute when good play from Teggart allowed Greg Hall to whip a dangerous cross goalwards from the right for the unmarked Callum Ferris to head in the opening goal of the game.
With Rodney Heasley in caretaker charge of Knockbreda, they looked like a team low on confidence and went two down six minutes later as Lee Bonis cut the ball back to Ferris who applied the finish that took knocks off both goalkeeper Hazard and Karl Hamill before nestling in the back of the net.
Portadown wrapped up all three points on 77 minutes when Lee Bonis broke free to latch onto Aaron Duke's through ball and finish well whilst under pressure from Wardlow.
