MALLARDS BEAT WELDERS TO STAY THIRD
Ballinamallard United defeated HW Welders in a high scoring encounter at Ferney Park to remain third in the table.
The Welders moved in front in first half stoppage time when Ryan O'Reilly turned the ball into his own net whilst attempting to clear a Dylan Davidson cross under pressure from Scott Davidson.
The Mallards levelled on 54 minutes when Sean McEvoy found the net with a half volley on the edge of the six-yard box before, just after the hour, O'Reilly redeemed himself with a scrambled finished after the ball was delivered from the left.
Jason McCartney then extended Ballinamallard's lead on 70 minutes, nodding across the face of goal from a right-sided cross.
Ryan Deans reduced the deficit with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining with a superbly executed header past John Connolly across goal but, with eight minutes left, Richard Clarke made sure of the points for the Mallards when he beat Ryan Miskelly from the spot.
