FIRST WIN IN SIX FOR WELDERS KNOCKS PORTS OFF TOP
Portadown slipped off the top of the table following defeat to HW Welders at Tillysburn Park.
Matt Tipton's side got off to a great start when, as early as the second minute, Paddy McNally opened the scoring with a thundering header past keeper Ryan Miskelly after meeting Aaron Duke's long throw.
The Welders levelled six minutes from the break through Scott Davidson who nodded the ball past Bobby Edwards into the far corner after Jonathan Smith was allowed the time to deliver a cross.
And the Welders secured the points with just over a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Dylan Davidson's shot from distance was parried by Edwards only for Matthew Ferguson to pounce on the loose ball to tap home the winner.
