PSNI CLAIM FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
The PSNI collected their first points of the season with victory over Newry City at The Showgrounds.
Both goals came either side of the break. On 42 minutes Nathan Best twisted inside the area to beat Andy Coleman on the turn to knock home Mark Anderson's cross from the left.
Then, three minutes into the second half, Jack McAlister made it 2-0 after getting clear of his marker to stab home Tony Tumelty's left-sided cross.
Newry pushed hard to salvage something from the game, eventually reducing the deficit just after the hour when Adam Foley made the most of missed James Turk clearance to race clear and slot the ball past keeper Daniele di Giorgio.
