HUGHES DOUBLE HELPS QUEEN'S BEAT TEN-MAN BREDA
Queen's University bounced back from Saturday's League Cup exit with a Championship victory over Knockbreda at The Dub.
The game got off to a bright start with two goals early in proceedings. Matthew Hughes fired the Students in front after four minutes before Darius Roohi levelled for 'Breda four minutes after that.
The visitors then moved in front themselves before the hour thanks to Alex Pomeroy's 56th minute finish but this was cancelled out when visiting defender Kyle McCauley turned the ball into his own net nine minutes later.
'Breda were reduced to ten men on 72 minutes for dissent with Queen's making the most of their numerical advantage with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Hughes turned on the edge of the area to knock home the winner and his second of the evening.
