BALLYCLARE BLAST EIGHT PAST THE WELDERS
Ballyclare Comrades thumped eight goals without reply past HW Welders in a storming performance at Dixon Park.
Kyle Beggs opened the scoring after just six minutes when he backheeled the ball past Ryan Miskelly from the edge of the six yard box after a corner had been initially cleared.
Despite the eventual outcome it took Ballyclare until the stroke of half-time to double their lead thanks to Jamie Willighan's sliding finish to Matthew Henry's ball across the box.
The floodgates opened after the break with Curtis Woods adding a third on 51 minutes with a 25-yard strike past Miskelly before Jake McNeill made it 4-0 with a curling finish from ouside the box.
Willighan extended Ballyclare's lead on 65 minutes from the spot before Beggs helped himself to a further two goals in three goals to claim his hat-trick.
On 69 minutes he combined with McNeill to beat Miskelly with a cool finish before squeezing the ball home from an acute angle soon after.
Jonathan Doey completed the scoring on 76 minutes after pouncing on the loose ball after Joe Tully's free-kick had been spilled.
