Promotion hopefuls Lisburn Distillery fell to an unexpected defeat to bottom of the table Donegal Celtic in the last game before the split.

Ciaran Murray fired the Hoops in front from the spot on 28 minutes, sending the ball into the bottom left after he had been brought down by Adam Wright to win the penalty.

Despite pressing hard for the equaliser, the Whites fell further behind with just over a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Robbie McVarnock found Padraig Hughes to tap home from a couple of yards out.

Distillery did earn a stoppage time consolation through Matthew Ferguson who managed to break clear of the deence to send the ball beyond 'keeper Ryan Scutt.
