ROONEY BAGS HAT-TRICK IN SEVEN GOAL THRILLER

Lisburn Distillery came from two goals down to eventually claim the points from this seven goal thriller with Lurgan Celtic at Knockramer Park thanks largely to a Daire Rooney hat-trick.

Celtic moved in front after nine minutes through Peter McCann after failings in the Whites defence allowed him the space to slot past Jonah Nicholl.

Philip Kerr added a second on 35 minutes with a tap in after some more poor defending but, a couple of minutes from the break, Mikey Withers pulled a goal back with a volley into the top right hand corner.

Rooney levelled ten minutes into the second half, opening his account with a close range header at the near post.

He then edged the visitors in front for the first time on 65 minutes with a second header, this time after rising to meet a corner.

The Hoops levelled seven minutes after that through Aaron Rogers' nod into the corner of the net but, with four minutes left, Rooney claimed the match ball and secured the points with an unstoppable strike into the back of the net from inside the box.
