QUEEN'S HIT FIVE TO CLINCH LEAGUE TITLE

Queen's University clinched the Bluefin Sport Intermediate League title with a five-goal victory over Tobermore United at Fortwilliam Park.

Chris Middleton opened the scoring from the spot on nine minutes after Philip Traynor had been brought down in the box with Connor Mulholland doubling the lead three minutes later when he outpaced the home defence.

Queen's ran riot and it wasn’t long before Mulholland bagged his second when he pounced on a good pass to beat keeper Lukasz Bednarz.

The scoring continued five minutes after that when Traynor fired in off the crossbar to give the Students a commanding advantage at the break.

The game was closer in the second half with both sides hitting the crossbar through Barry Walsh and Ryan Winton respectively but, with five minutes left, Middleton wrapped things up with his second spot-kick of the game.
