MOYOLA PAY THE PENALTY AT CRYSTAL PARK

Penalties were the order of the day as Banbridge Town and Moyola Park shared the points at Crystal Park.

After a first half stalemate which looked destined to end scoreless Banbridge moved in front on 41 minutes when Neil Clydesdale was fouled on the right side of the area with Stephen McCavitt stepping up to convert from the spot.

Kyle Beggs levelled for Moyola seven minutes after the break when he outstripped Daniel Devlin down the left to fire home from the edge of the box.

That was how it stayed until six minutes from the end when Town keeper Gerard McErlean was adjudged to have brought down a Moyola forward inside the area before Tiarnan Rafferty knocked home the penalty that followed.

Banbridge threw players forward in an attempt to gain parity but with the clock counting down it seemed that their efforts would be in vain. James Wilson and Michael Allison slung crosses into the box from the right and from one of those the referee deemed that McCavitt was pushed as he went for the ball. Banbridge were duly awarded a second penalty which McCavitt clinically sent past Marcin Farniok to settle the game.
