Distillery broke the deadlock through Alan McMurtry who converted a 32nd minute penalty awarded after Timmy Clarke was upended in the box by the Tobermore 'keeper Andrew Finlay.

The visitors were reduced to ten men soon after after Dean Brown was shown a straight red card for violent conduct in an incident with Barry Moore.

Tobermore almost levelled just before the half came to a close, as Conor Kearns' free kick went narrowly wide of the mark.

However, they did get back on level terms on the hour when Aidan McCauley turned a free-kick past Jonah Nicholl and whilst the 'keeper got a hand to the ball he was unable to stop it reaching the top left corner.
