An early penalty after just five minutes was enough for Tobermore United to secure victory over Moyola Park at Fortwilliam Park in the penultimate game of the season.
Conor Kearns brought his tally for the campaign to 13, successfully converting into the top right corner after the spot-kick had been awarded for a foul by Stephen Doey.
The first half largely saw both defences on top with little of note created until near the end when Kearns headed into the side netting while, at the other end, a wonderful dipping cross from Nicky Hudson was almost turned in by Tomas McCann.
Play was a lot more open in the second half with the sides trading chances after a slow start with perhaps the clearest opening falling to Aaron Campbell with just over a quarter-of-an-hour to go when he got past Marcin Farniok only to fail to find the open net.
