BETA STRIKES LATE ON FOR DISTILLERY

Portstewart came close to breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute through James Peden's free-kick which was tipped by 'keeper Patrick Saunders into the path of Eoghan Quigg, who blasted the ball over the bar from just outside the six-yard box.

Distillery then got their turn to go one up in the match, being awarded a penalty on the 23rd minute as Mikey Withers was brought down in the box, however Alan McMurtry was unable to convert from the spot, sending the ball way over the bar.

The game looked like it was going to end a goalless draw until substitute Nick Beta fired home in stoppage time, giving the Whites three vital points as the league comes nearer to a close.
