ANNAGH came out all guns blazing following a narrow midweek defeat to Loughgall.

Annagh had three chances in the opening 10 mins when McCordick found Madison in form as the home striker tried to finish from a Peden header, a Camlin cross and a set piece.

It was all Annagh, and although Parsons fired over for the visitors a great Camlin/Smith exchange couldn't find its way through a packed box and McCordick joined in again from Gardiners assists, all to no avail as the tempo increased.

Annagh did find themselves clearly through on 22 mins after a Gaston and Todd free kick mix up, only for ref Loughrey to spare their blushes and call it back.

The Seahawks did get livlier a third into the game and Dinsmore went close from a well worked free. On 32 mins McCordick ran 30 yards in an arc unchallenged but the keeper saved low from a great strike as at the opposite end a 25 yard effort nearly caught out Wright in the home goal.

McCordick should have scored with 10 to go, a squared ball to Smith just not precise enough, and from the corner Darragh Peden had a header cleared off the line.

On 39 mins Alan Murphy headed close and just on the whistle Camlin and Gardiner combined well to set up a frustrated McCordick who shot wide after an unpunished Ian Todd elbow had angered the striker.

It only took two minutes of the second half for Annagh to find the breakthrough, on 47 mins Darragh Peden headed the Reds ahead while just one minute later Smith got finished with a great strike.

Five minutes later Smith's overhead kick was disallowed for offside and McCordick fired wide from a great Bell through ball, on the hour mark a Bell strike from McCordick's lay off was well saved by Madison.

Smith and McCordick had numerous chances in the last third with Sam Boylan proving the only real threat for the Port with Andy Wright never much troubled.

In the closing stages both Bell and McCann spurned chances to increase the advantage but could not find the finish.
