HW Welders swept to a crushing 4-1 defeat of near neighbours and morning league leaders Dundela at Wilgar Park.

Ryan Deans opened the scoring on 37 minutes with a fantastic 25-yard looping volley over the head of keeper Ryan McBride into the top corner.

The Duns might levelled before the break when Jordan Hughes produced a great double save from Ryan Brown.

Dundela did get back on level terms, however, on the hour when Deans turned the ball into his own net whilst intercepting a Carl McComb pass to Hughes on the edge of the area.

The Welders regained the lead on 72 minutes with a near post header from Karl Hamill before two goals in the final ten minutes settled the outcome.

Scott Davidson added a third on the counter-attack after a Dundela free-kick had been cleared with Jack O'Mahony completing the scoring after facing down McBride one-on-one.
