THREE POINTS FOR WELDERS ON THE ROAD

First half goals from Ross Arthurs and Scott Davidson helped HW Welders to victory over Loughgall at Lakeview Park.

Davidson had the ball in the net for the Welders after ten minutes when he tapped home the rebound after Loughgall keeper Gareth Buchanan had made a good save to push the ball out but it was ruled out offside.

Loughgall then started to play better with Keith Kearney smashing a free kick only for it to be saved by Ryan Brown while Gary Liggett then fired over from the resulting corner. Peter Campbell also produced a great run into the box but his shot was well saved by Brown.

The Welders then capitalised on some atrocious defending by the Villagers to open the scoring when Lukasz Gwiazda delivered a great ball into the box for Arthurs to convert at the second attempt after his first effort was saved.

Davidson then doubled their advantage on the counter attack with an effort from around 12 yards into the top corner.

In the second half Loughgall effectively camped out in the Welders half having much of the possession however were not able to break down the stubborn Welders defence.

Andrew Hoey, Campbell and Liggett all had further chances but where unable to hit the target. Manager Dean Smith went for all out attack bringing on Conor Mullen and Marcus Dallas but they faired no better and the Welders held on for the win.
