A Darren Stuart goal deep into first half stoppage time earned Larne the points from Lurgan Celtic's visit to Inver Park.

David McAlinden's side started well, carving out efforts via Paul Maguire and Anto McGonnell.

Celtic, fresh from Saturday's Irish Cup semi-final, had a chance when Josh Barton tested Billy Brennan after half-an-hour while Aaron Haire later came closer but, again, couldn't find a way past the Larne 'keeper.

What proved to be the winner came three minutes into added time at the end of the first half after Stuart broke clear to squeeze the ball past Celtic 'keeper Conor McCorry.

Stuart thought he had doubled his tally for the evening but his 58th minute 'goal' was ruled out offside.

Maguire might have found the net after that only to see a close range header drop wide before having a go from a Stuart cross.

Barton had a late chance for the visitors in an attempt to salvage a point but he could only send his effort over the top.
