ROESIDERS HIT FOUR TO KEEP SURVIVAL HOPES ALIVE

Limavady United hit four goals without reply against the PSNI at Newforge to keep their slim survival hopes alive.

Knowing that anything other than a win would see them relegated the Roesiders raced into the lead as early as the fifth minute when Ryan Logue was first to react to a Marcus O'Kane low cross into the box.

Gary McFadden added a second on 22 minutes with a chipped effort over keeper Ben McCauley before, a quarter-of-an-hour later, Ryan Doherty made it 3-0 after Emmet Friars nodded a free-kick back into his path.

The determined visitors didn't rest on their laurels after the break, and duly added a fourth goal just a minute after the restart thanks to Alex Pomeroy's low finish into the far corner after shrugging off his marker.
