Zach Barr (70)

Limavady United keeper Paul Wells kept a clean sheet in the win over Larne

Limavady United put their recent poor run behind them to secure a vital win over Irish Cup semi-finalists Larne at The Showgrounds.

The visitors started brightly, with Thomas Stewart foiled by a fine block by 'keeper Paul Wells while Gerard Thompson blazed the rebound wide. Then, a few minutes after that, Martin Donnelly sent over a corner which David Scullion headed towards goal but Wells got down to save.

At the other end Gerard Gillan offered up a close range header to which Conor Devlin showed quick reactions to save.

But neither side managed to make the breakthrough until, on 70 minutes, Zach Barr grabbed the only goal of the game with a powerful header from a corner.
