Luckas Gwiazda levelled for the Welders
Saturday, 06 October 2018
Two goals midway through the second half earned HW Welders and PSNI a point apiece from this Bluefin Sport Championship clash at Tillysburn Park.
After a quiet opening to the game David Graham might have found a way through just before the half-hour mark with a low, hard effort from just outside the box but PSNI keeper Jordan Williamson did well to save at his near post.
Scott Davidson came even closer for the Welders after that, smashing a header against the crossbar after connecting with a cross from the left.
The Welders had further chances after the break, one cleared off the line and a Chris Morrow effort which Williamson again dealt with.
However, the deadlock was broken in favour of the visitors on 66 minutes when Kyle Crawford was given space at the back post to head home from an inswinging free-kick.
But the Welders levelled with 12 minutes remaining to earn a point after Luckas Gwiazda made the most of a defensive error to run through to slot the equaliser below Williamson.
