Portadown and Limavady United shared the points in an entertaining Friday night encounter at Shamrock Park.
Limavady almost opened the scoring as early as the second minute through Sean McCarron following a good run forward that ended with a shot just fizzing the wrong side of the upright.
And a couple of minutes after that Aidan McCauley also came close with an effort just over from just outside the box.
But the deadlock was broken after a quarter-of-an-hour in Portadown's favour when Jamie Douglas cut in from the left to unleash a stunning 30-yard drive past Paul Wells, the Limavady keeper was at full stretch and still couldn't reach the ball.
However, the visitors equalised on 33 minutes when McCauley lifted a precise volley over Declan Dunne's head from the edge of the box.
Then, 12 minutes into the second half, they moved in front through Stuart McMullan who lost his marker at the back post to control a high ball and clinically steer the ball into the opposite corner beyond Dunne.
Portadown responded within six minutes, though, when substitute Darren Murray got on the end of a through ball from Adam Salley to, who pounced on a poor Wells clearance, to send a shot wide of the keeper into the net.
The Ports then pushed hard to seal the points. Ross Larkin nodded a Gerard Storey corner over while Johnny Flynn crashed a header off the underside of the bar.
At the other end McCarron might have secured the win for Limavady after taking the ball past four defenders and only being thwarted by an excellent stop from the home keeper.
