Carrick Rangers defender Caolan Loughran collects the Belleek trophy from NIFWA Chairman Keith Bailie

Carrick Rangers defender Caolan Loughran is February's NIFWA Championship Player of the Month.

The former Ballymena United man has helped Carrick to league wins over Harland & Wolff Welders, Ballinamallard United and Dundela. Loughran also bagged four goals in the month, helping Carrick into second place in the Championship.

Upon collecting the Belleek trophy, Loughran said, "It's a massive honour for me to be named Player of the Month, it certainly wasn't something I was expecting.

"I'm really enjoying my football with Carrick, this season. Obviously Larne have the title wrapped up, but we are well placed to make the play-offs. I think we're capable of giving anyone in the play-offs a game, but for now we just have to keep doing what we're doing."
