NI FOOTBALL AWARDS 2019: CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The nominees for the Championship Player of the Year have been revealed ahead of the 2019 NI Football Awards.

The top performers from the NI Football League’s second tier has been selected by nominations from managers of clubs within the league and voting members from the NI Football Writers’ Association.

Heading up the trio of nominees from champions Larne is forward Martin Donnelly who finished as the Championship's top goalscorer with 22 goals in the league.

Team-mate David McDaid is the second nominee who notched 20 goals en route to the league title at Inver Park.

The final nominee is English defender Ben Tilney who enjoyed a fine first season in the NI Football League after joining from MK Dons last summer.

The NI Football Awards will be held on Monday 13 May at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belfast and will be streamed live via the NI Football League’s Facebook page.
