Two David McDaid goals helped Larne defeat HW Welders at Inver Park in the final home game of the season for Tiernan Lynch's side.

The win also ensures the league champions ended the season undefeated on their own patch, winning 15 out of 16 games with only a draw against Portadown back in September spoiling an otherwise perfect record.

McDaid opened the scoring as early as the second minute with a sweeping finish applied to Dom Tear's cross from the left, a goal which means McDaid has scored in each of his last 12 appearances for the club.

That was how it stayed until just after the hour when the former Cliftonville and Coleraine doubled Larne's lead with a superbly executed free-kick past keeper Matthew Anderson.

The Welders did grab a consolation moments from the end of normal time with a neat turn and finish from Ross Arthurs.
