MALLARDS MAKE IT FOUR UNBEATEN

Ballinamallard United extended their unbeaten run to four games with a draw at home to second in the table Dundela.

The visitors were dominant in the opening stages of the game, enjoying plenty of possession and took the lead on 13 minutes when Daniel Burns' cross from the left was converted at close range by striker Carl McComb.

The Duns should have extended their lead short after on the counter attack but David McMaster shot wide when well placed.

As the half wore on the home start started to grow into the game and they equalised on 35 minutes. The Belfast side failed to clear Jay McCartney's corner and Joshua McIlwaine stabbed the ball home from six yards.

Before half time Harry McConkey's men almost took the lead when Darragh McBrien beat goalkeeper Ryan McBride to a through ball, but he couldn't quite get enough power and the ball was acrobatically cleared off the goal line by the covering defender.

The Mallards continued to be on top in the second half but the Dundela defence stood firm and had chances of their own, with Mallards goalkeeper John Connolly tipping a low shot onto the post with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.

Both sides went looking for a winner but couldn't quite find the golden touch in the final third and overall a draw was a fair result in this competitive fixture.
