MACKLE HITS THE SPOT FOR PORTS

A goal at the end of each half saw Portadown defeat Irish Cup finalists Ballinamallard United at Shamrock Park.

Aaron Duke opened the scoring for the Ports in first half stoppage time when he swept the ball past John Connolly after Sean Mackle had delivered a cross from the right.

The Mallards levelled on 67 minutes through Ryan Campbell's close range finish at the back post.

Portadown's winner came three minutes from time courtesy of a successfully converted spot-kick from Mackle.
