The NI Football League are delighted to announce the launch of the Bluefin Sport Fair Play Awards for the current season.
Aimed at promoting fair play and good sportsmanship in the Bluefin Sport Championship and Premier Intermediate League, the award will be for the team in each division with the fewest yellow and red cards over the course of the season.
Andrew Johnston, NI Football League Managing Director said: “It’s fantastic to be working closely with our Championship and Premier Intermediate League sponsors, Bluefin Sport, to reward teams for their Fair Play.
“I’d like to thank Bluefin Sport and their continued support which has been invaluable to our clubs on and off the pitch. In what has been undoubtedly the highest profile Championship season to date, we hope the Fair Play awards can reflect the quality of sportsmanship in our leagues.”
The Bluefin Sport Fair Play Awards will be calculated using a metric of one point per yellow card and three points per red card each club accumulates, with updated Fair Play tables published monthly on the NI Football League social media.
The winning clubs from each of the respective divisions will receive a year’s free personal accident insurance for the 2019/2020 season, as well as the stylish Bluefin Sport Fair Play trophy.
