Andrew Hoey (84)

Alex Pomeroy (11p)

Limavady United were denied by a late Loughgall equaliser at Lakeview Park, but are still in possession of their Championship place going into the final game of the campaign.

The Roesiders are two points adrift of PSNI and know they must defeat Knockbreda next Saturday and hope the PSNI lose to Ballyclare Comrades in order to be given another chance of safety via the play-offs.

United started the game at a blistering pace, creating a number of chances, before moving in front on 11 minutes through a successfully converted Alex Pomeroy penalty after he had been upended twice inside the box.

Pomeroy had a couple of further opportunities later in the first half but couldn't keep any on target while, just before the break, Emmet Friars saw a goalbound header cleared off the line.

Limavady held onto the lead despite an improved Loughgall performance as the second half progressed before the Villagers eventually levelled six minutes from time through Andrew Hoey's dipping volley over keeper Paul Wells.

But Limavady almost snatched a late, late winner only for Aidan McCauley's snapshot to come back off the outside of the post while the follow up was sent wide.
