Larne maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign with victory over the PSNI at Newforge.

There was very little between the teams in the first half. Both had opportunities to score but both appeared to have difficulty in finding the target.

The first real change of the game fell to Martin Donnelly when he was unmarked and in front of goal but his header went well over the bar. Not to be outdone Lukasz Adamczyk did exactly the same at the other end following a fine cross from Nathan Riddle.

Within moments of the start of the second half Larne were awarded a penalty when Darren Stuart was fouled. This time Donnelly didn't miss the target.

Midway through the second half home captain, Scott McCrory, suffered a bad head injury following an accidental coming together. Following tests in hospital he was thankfully discharged but will be out of action for some time.

Shortly afterwards, on 81 minutes, Ben Tilney slotted the ball under the body of the advancing Williamson to double Larne's lead.

The PSNI started to come into the game a bit more now but they had to wait for a wonder strike from Jake McNeill some 40 yards out. He brought the ball under control and fired in a volley which gave Conor Devlin no chance. A case of too little too late.
