Champions Larne said goodbye to the Bluefin Sport Championship in style, sweeping aside a youthful Ballinamallard United at Ferney Park.

The result was irrelevant to both sides as Harry McConkey opted to give some of his squad and Academy talent the chance to shine ahead of a historic first Irish Cup Final next Saturday.

Five players made their full senior debut for the Club with 11 of the 16 man squad aged 20 and under.

It was the visitors who looked the more likely to score throughout and they broke the deadlock on 28 minutes when David McDaid got on the end of a defence splitting pass and slotted cooly past Tim Harney.

Both Lee Lynch and Martin Donnelly had chances to extend the lead before half time but a combination of good goalkeeping and covering defending kept the score at 1-0.

It was 2-0 on 63 minutes when Fuad Sule made and scored a penalty despite Harney initially saving the spot kick and the lively Lee Lynch made it three with a fine strike in off the left upright on 76 minutes.

Donnelly added the fourth with substitute Thomas Stewart netting the final goal of the afternoon.
