Bluefin Sport Championship leaders Larne have bolstered their squad with the signing of Lee Lynch from Sligo Rovers.

The 27-year-old midfielder joined on Saturday and will add a wealth of experience to the Inver Park engine room as they look to secure their place in next season’s Danske Bank Premiership.

Larne manager Tiernan Lynch told the official Larne website; “We had to fight off two or three League of Ireland clubs, and at least one Premiership side in Northern Ireland was very interested in Lee.”

“We brought him up here and showed him around and told him the plans for the club and the journey we are going on.”

Lee began his career with West Bromwich Albion before spells in the League of Ireland at Drogheda, Sligo Rovers, St. Patrick’s Athletic and his native Limerick. He has also played in Spain, Scotland and the United States during his career and won the 2012 League of Ireland title with Sligo.

One player departing Inver Park this Christmas is Andrew Osei-Bonsu, the midfielder has had his contract terminated by mutual consent. The former MK Dons youth player made six appearances for the club this season and will return to England to continue his career.
