LARNE HIT ROESIDERS FOR SIX

Larne continued their charge at the top of the Bluefin Sport Championship with a six-goal defeat of Limavady United at Inver Park.

Jeff Hughes opened the scoring after eight minutes with a finish into the top corner after getting past a defender some 20 yards from goal.

It was 2-0 just before the half-hour mark when Limavady's Shane Boyle turned the ball into his own net whilst attempting to deal with a Ben Tilney cross.

Larne extended their advantage a couple of minutes from the break when David McDaid converted from the spot following a foul on Tomas Cosgrove.

On 68 minutes Tilney got his name on the scoresheet with an unmarked header at the back post from a McDaid cross before, nine minutes later, Hughes doubled his tally with a low shot at the near post.

Martin Donnelly completed the scoring three minutes from time after connecting with a David Scullion lay-off.
