LARNE HIT FOUR TO WIN EAST ANTRIM DERBY

Larne kicked off the post-split Bluefin Sport Championship fixtures with a four-goal defeat of Carrick Rangers at Inver Park to move 16 points clear at the top.

Martin Donnelly opened the scoring after just three minutes with a close range finish from Ben Tilney's low cross.

Donnelly was involved again in Larne's second when he was upended by Aaron Hogg to earn a 40th minute penalty which David McDaid duly converted.

And McDaid extended Larne's advantage with his second of the game on 65 minutes when he tapped home Tilney's cross at the back post.

But the goal of the game was reserved until stoppage time when Benny Igiehon made it 4-0 after receiving a lay-off from Donnelly down the right before cutting inside to unleash a superb effort from outside the area into the left corner beyond Hogg's reach.
