Bluefin Sport Championship side Harland & Wolff Welders have parted company with manager Norman Kelly and his backroom team.

The move comes after an alarming drop of form at the East Belfast club, losing eight of their last nine games in all competitions since December and dropping out of contention for a promotion playoff place in the Championship.

In a statement on the club’s official website, ‘Harland and Wolff Welders F.S.C can announce that First Team Manager Norman Kelly and his backroom team have been relieved of their duties at Tillysburn Park.

‘We would like place on record our thanks to Norman and his staff for their time at the club and wish them all the best for the future.’

Kelly was appointed as manager in May 2018 stepping up from assistant following the departure of Gary Smyth to Glentoran.

The Welders have five games left in the Bluefin Sport Championship season, starting with an away trip to Ballinamallard United this coming Saturday.
