The new HW Welders management team and committee (c) HW Welders

Bluefin Sport Championship club Harland & Wolff Welders have appointed Colin McIlwaine and George O'Boyle to the vacant managerial position.

The East Belfast club had been on the search for a manager since the departure of Norman Kelly in March. Welders Chairman Thomas Flynn stated on the club's social media: "Having gone through an extensive interview process Colin and George's ambition, desire and hunger exceeded even our own expectations.

"They showed a strong will to develop things on the pitch and strengthen the club overall."

The pair had previously been in charge at Amateur League Albert Foundary and recently resigned from their post at Premier Intermediate League side Lisburn Distillery, who currently are fourth in the table.

The duo take charge of their first match this Saturday away to Portadown in the Bluefin Sport Championship (kick-off: 3pm).
