It’s yet another action packed weekend in the BlueFin Sport Championship with six fixtures scheduled for Saturday, writes Aaron O'Neill.

With the post-split fixtures now in progress the battles for promotion and relegation are well underway.

League leaders Institute are on the road this weekend as they travel to face second placed Newry City. ‘Stute find themselves seven points clear of their opponents however the Mourne men will be hoping to reduce the deficit by picking up all three points at the Newry Showgrounds.

H&W Welders welcome Loughgall to Tillysburn Park. Loughgall will be aiming to get back to winning ways after last weekend’s defeat at the hands of local rivals Portadown. Fourth placed Ballyclare Comrades host fifth placed Portadown at Dixon Park. The Comrades will be looking to bounce back after they suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of Newry City last time out.

High-flying Larne will be aiming to continue the goal scoring form they enjoyed last weekend. The Inver Park side enjoyed an 8-0 victory at home to Knockbreda and Tiernan Lynch’s men will be hoping for something similar when they play host to Limavady United.

Knockbreda will have a win in mind as they host Dergview at Breda Park on Saturday. Dergview have been struggling to find their form in recent weeks but will be hoping to set the record straight on the road.

Saturday’s only remaining fixture sees Lurgan Celtic travelling to face PSNI. Celtic remain rooted to the foot of the table but a win this weekend could see them close the gap on their opponents who are currently tenth in the table.
