LYNCH SIGNS OFF WITH A WIN AS LARNE REACH LAST EIGHT
Larne progressed to the last eight of the BetMcLean Cup with victory over Institute at the Brandywell as outgoing boss Tiernan Lynch signed off with a win.
Scoreless at the break, Institute's Padraig Lynch came closest to finding a way through when he directed a header onto the crossbar midway through the first half while Evan Tweed fired just wide not long after that.
Larne's best effort came courtesy of a Conor McKendry that produced a good stop from Gareth Muldoon.
But the visitors did move in front just before the hour when Paul O'Neill, on as a half-time substitute, lifted the ball over the advancing Muldoon after running onto McKendry's pass.
Then, with 20 minutes remaining, Sean Graham doubled Larne's lead when he took the ball past a number of defenders before sending a curling left foot shot into the net.
