KENNEDY BAGS MATCH BALL FOR FIVE STAR CRUES
Ben Kennedy bagged a hat-trick as Crusaders swept to a five goal BetMcLean Cup defeat of Warrenpoint Town at Milltown.
Kennedy opened the scoring as early as the third minute after tucking the ball home at the back post after Lewis Deane had saved an initial effort.
'Point came closest to levelling early in the second half when John Savage headed against the crossbar but, just a few minutes later, Kennedy doubled the Crues' lead after making the most of a defensive lapse.
Philip Lowry made it 3-0 midway through the half with a cracking finish into the top corner, before Kennedy claimed the match ball with his third of the evening with a header from Ross Clarke's corner.
Josh Robinson then completed the scoring late on with a near post finish from another Clarke set piece.
