NEWRY EDGE PAST WELDERS
Newry City defeated HW Welders by the odd goal in three at the Blanchflower Stadium to progress in the BetMcLean Cup.
The visitors moved in front with just under a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock courtesy of an effort in off the post from just outside the box by Jordan Mooney.
That was how it stayed until the hour mark when Adam Salley doubled Newry's lead with a tap in from inside the six yard box.
Michael McLellan pulled one back for the Welders on 74 minutes but, ultimately, City held on to book their spot in the next round.
