NEWRY SQUEEZE THROUGH ON PENALTIES
Newry City made it through to the next round of the BetMcLean Cup thanks to a penalty shoot-out win away to Limavady United.
Scoreless after 90 minutes, and again at the end of extra-time, Newry ended the game with ten men after Philip Donnelly was dismissed for violent conduct on 103 minutes.
In the shootout Brian Healy, Daniel Hughes, Ryan McGivern, Lorcan Forde and Thomas Lockhart all found the net for the visitors.
For the Roesiders Dean Brown and Aaron McLaughlin scored before Josh Tennant saw his kick saved by Niall Brady. Gareth McFadden and Alex Pomeroy also made their penalties count but it couldn't stop the home side losing 5-4 to their Premiership opponents.
