GORMLEY DOUBLE SEES HOLDERS THROUGH
Holders Cliftonville kicked off their defence of the BetMcLean Cup with a three-goal victory over HW Welders at the Blanchflower Stadium.
Ronan Hale opened the scoring midway through the first half with a perfect finish over keeper Sam Johnston.
Joe Gormley made it 2-0 on 70 minutes with a close range finish after Hale had laid the ball off.
Then, with two minutes remaining, Gormley completed the scoring with his second of the evening with a lob from Kris Lowe's delivery.
