MAGUIRE GOAL ENOUGH FOR 'POINT
Warrenpoint Town safely booked their place in the last eight of the BetMcLean League Cup courtesy of a one-goal victory over Championship opponents Loughgall at Milltown.
'Point went in at the break a goal to the good when, as early as the seventh minute, Thomas Maguire opened the scoring after latching onto a Greg Moorhouse flick to take the ball past Berraat Turker and into the net.
It was almost 2-0 to Warrenpoint just before the hour but Jonathan Leddy could only turn his effort from the edge of the area against the crossbar.
But, in the end, Maguire's early finish proved enough to see Barry Gray's side through to the quarter-finals.
