BYRNE HAT-TRICK FIRES MALLARDS THROUGH
Reece Byrne hit an extra-time hat-trick as Ballinamallard United defeated Dundela at Wilgar Park to reach the last 16 of the BetMcLean League Cup.
Scoreless at the end of 90 minutes, the Mallards went into extra-time a man down following Christopher Kelly's 81st minute dismissal for a second bookable offence.
However, none of that appeared to matter when two goals from Byrne in the first period of extra-time put Harry McConkey's side into a commanding position.
BJ Banda added a third in the 107th minute before Byrne bagged his third with five minutes left.
