HUGHES DOUBLE SEES NEWRY THROUGH
Two Daniel Hughes goals helped Newry City defeat Tobermore United in this BetMcLean League Cup clash at The Showgrounds.
The former Dungannon Swifts man struck on 39 minutes to open the scoring and give Newry the half-time advantage.
However Paul Smith levelled for the PIL visitors on 57 minutes, but it proved to be short lived parity after Hughes stepped up to convert from the spot just after the hour and secure a Second Round place for Darren Mullen's side.
