BAXTER'S MEN CRUES THROUGH TO LEAGUE CUP QUARTERS
League leaders Crusaders comfortably progressed in the BetMcLean League Cup with victory away to Limavady United.
Colin Coates opened the scoring for the Crues as early as the sixth minute when he got on the end of a great cross from Harry Robinson to fire home from close range.
David Cushley added a second on 23 minutes from a tight angle after the ball fell kindly for him before, just a moment or two after that, Jamie McGonigle made it 3-0 with a smashing finish from 25 yards which dipped just under the crossbar.
The Roesiders pulled a goal back early in the second half after Ryan Doherty netted at the second attempt after Sean O'Neill had saved an initial effort.
However, Crusaders restored their three-goal advantage soon after when Paul McElroy touched the ball home to kill the game off - and they could have added a fifth later in the second half when Sean Ward turned an effort against the bar.
