DUNDELA SEND LARNE CRASHING OUT OF THE LEAGUE CUP
Owain Beggs bagged a double as Dundela dumped Larne out of the BetMcLean League Cup at Inver Park.
Larne went into the game on the back of a six-goal thumping of Glenavon but that counted for nothing after seven minutes when Beggs showed good footwork inside the box to create space to send a low shot past Conor Mitchell.
Larne pressed hard to level with Ben Tilney heading just over soon after while Fuad Sule almost found the net on the stroke of half time only to be denied by keeper Jonathan Sergeant.
Further chances followed after the break from Tomas Cosgrove, Martin Donnelly and Ben Tileney before, on 72 minutes, Ross Holden doubled Dundela's lead with a chip over Mitchell following a mix-up in the home defence.
Albert Watson pulled one back for the Premiership side four minutes later with a back post header from Conor McKendry's cross.
But, with nine minutes to go, Beggs made sure of Dundela's place in the last eight with his second of the evening after the Larne rearguard failed to clear the ball.
